At our Luncheons, we make sure to take the time to honor some really great student athletes. These students not only excel in sport, but they are all super humans who will soon be the leaders of our communities and country. Alyssa Mason is a senior on the Hilliard Davidson girls cross country team.
Alyssa had a very successful postseason as she finished second at the district and regional meets before finishing sixth at the state meet to earn all-Ohio honors. Alyssa’s effort helped the Wildcats to a fifth-place finish in the team standings. Her finish was second-highest in the area behind Alyssa Shope of Gahanna who won the state title and was honored earlier this fall.

Will DeVere is a junior forward on the Grandview Heights boys soccer team.
Will scored a goal Wednesday to help the third-seeded Bobcats defeat top-seeded Cincinnati Maderia 2-0 in a Division III state semifinal. Grandview improved to 16-4-2 and will play sixth-ranked Columbiana Crestview at 1 p.m. tomorrow for the state title. Will also scored twice in a 6-1 victory over Berlin Hiland in a regional final last Saturday. For the season, Will has 20 goals.

Gabi Moulton is a junior setter on the Olentangy Liberty girls volleyball team.
Gabi helped lead the Patriots to the first trip to the Division I state final by recording 27 assist, eight digs and four kills in a three-set victory over Amherst Steele in a semifinal Thursday at Wright State University. The Patriots are 27-1 for the season and will play Rocky River Magnificat at 11 a.m. tomorrow for the state title. Liberty earned their second state berth with a three-set victory over Olentangy Orange last Saturday in a regional final as Gabi record 30 assists.

Ethan Ogden is a senior goalie on the Dublin Jerome boys soccer team.
The Celtics (pronounced Keltics) reached the state tournament for the first time since 2008 by completing a tournament revenge tour behind a defense led by Ethan. Jerome beat Upper Arlington 3-1 in a district final, Westerville Central 1-0 in overtime in a regional semifinal and New Albany 1-0 in a regional final. The Celtics lost to all three teams in the regular season. Jerome’s season ended Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to Centerville in a Division I state semifinal to finish 13-8-1.
