As it did for Notre Dame when Arike Ogubowale sunk buzzer-beater shots to advance to and later to win the NCAA 2018 Div I Women's Basketball Championship at Nationwide Arena this past weekend. On twitter broadcast analyst and former NCAA player, LaChina Robinson said, “In my 16 Women’s Final Fours, this has been the best, By FAR. Well done Columbus.” Notre Dame's winning coach Muffet McGraw had this to say, “Just an incredible job by Columbus and the local community. Great support for women’s basketball and definitely one of the best Final Fours since 2001, right?” 2001 being the last time the Irish won the Championship. Here in Central Ohio the Championship game pulled the highest television rating in the Country at 8.5 percent of viewers. Ohio State and Columbus last hosted an NCAA Semifinal and Final in 2005 when the Men's Ice Hockey Frozen Four was held at the Schottenstein Center to similar praise from visitors.
